Consider the return line as part of the steam system.
The duty
The manufacturer identifies condensate return as an application for pre-insulated tubing. Insulated transport reduces heat loss as condensate travels away from steam users. The proposed tubing still needs to suit the actual condensate conditions and the wider return-system arrangement.
Describe the return conditions
Supply normal and maximum temperature and pressure, the expected flow and the receiving-system conditions. Identify changes in elevation and backpressure, and tell PMA if flashing or two-phase flow is expected. Tubing selection should be coordinated with the steam-system design rather than treated as a standalone pipe replacement.
Protect the insulation and connections
Review material, tube dimensions, supports and end treatment over the installed route. The Series 2200 construction uses a continuous polymer outer jacket; field connections and exposed ends still need suitable treatment. Include inspection access and the required installation documentation in the enquiry.
