Environment

Our environmental policy guides how we use resources, manage waste and keep improving the way we work.

Our promise to our environment

Environmental responsibility is an ongoing part of how PMA works. Our policy brings together our commitments to compliance, resource conservation, waste management and the communities around us.

We review the policy every year to check that it is current and to look for further areas of improvement. The commitments below explain what that means for our day-to-day responsibilities.

Management and development

We are committed to maintaining a documented environmental management system and developing it over time. This gives our responsibilities a clear framework and supports continual improvement.

Regulation and objectives

Our aim is to meet, and where possible exceed, the environmental requirements that apply to our activities. We set definable, measurable objectives so improvement can be assessed against clear priorities.

Resources and waste

We seek to conserve natural resources, recycle materials wherever practicable and reduce waste. Waste management forms part of our approach to using materials responsibly throughout our work.

Community and transport

Our policy commits us to eliminating nuisance to the local community and maintaining an environmentally safe transport strategy. Considering how our activities affect others is part of that responsibility.

Prevention and awareness

We keep abreast of environmental legislation and developments in pollution prevention and environmental control technology. Staying informed helps us identify relevant changes and opportunities to improve our approach.

Communication and review

We aim to give employees and interested parties a complete understanding of our environmental policy. We review the policy annually to check that it remains up to date and to identify further areas for improvement.

Putting our policy into practice

Our environmental policy guides how we use resources, manage waste and consider the impact of our activities on the communities around us. We aim to conserve natural resources, recycle wherever practicable and prevent pollution through responsible day-to-day working.

We set measurable objectives, keep abreast of environmental legislation and help employees understand their responsibilities. Reviewing the policy each year helps us keep these commitments current and identify further opportunities for improvement.
