STEAM TRACED TUBING
Consistent contact. Considered heat transfer.
A metal steam tracer transfers heat to one or more process tubes within an insulated, weather-protected assembly. Cabled tubes remain in contact along the bundle, supporting consistent heat transfer while allowing bends in different planes. PMA helps you review the steam conditions, process duty and condensate arrangements together.

Cabled construction
Tubes are cabled together to maintain contact along the line. The construction allows bends in different directions without twisting the bundle to form the bend.
Protected insulation
Heat-reflecting foil and moisture-resistant, non-wicking fibrous-glass insulation sit beneath a seamless protective outer jacket.
Complete steam circuit
Review steam supply, drainage, traps and condensate return together. The tracing bundle is one part of the heating system.

How does steam tracing differ from electric tracing?
Steam tracing transfers heat from a steam tracer. Electric tracing supplies heat through an electric heater. The choice depends on the duty, utilities, control requirements and installation.
Is Dekatrace the same product?
Dekatrace pipe and vessel steam tracers are a separate product range with their own specification. This page covers steam-traced tubing bundles; ask PMA for the appropriate documents for your application.
What should I send for a quotation?
Include fluid and viscosity requirements, tube dimensions and material, maintained temperature, steam conditions, line length, route, drainage and condensate arrangements.
