Connect the steam supply with the route in mind.
The duty
Marmon identifies Series 2200 pre-insulated tubing for transporting steam and connecting steam supply manifolds to pipe and vessel tracing. The insulation reduces heat loss during transport. In this arrangement the tube carries the utility steam; it is distinct from a steam-traced bundle heating a separate process tube.
Define the steam service
Provide supply pressure and temperature, required duty and the conditions at the receiving equipment. Include the route length, changes in elevation and the intended connection sizes. Selection should consider the steam distribution arrangement and operating conditions, not just the temperature of the source.
Review the line and its interfaces
Confirm the tube material, pressure-temperature limits, end connections and insulation treatment for the proposed assembly. Include access, supports and any site personnel-protection requirements. Manufacturer surface-temperature statements relate to stated test conditions and should not be treated as universal site performance.
