Specify a temperature duty, not just a maximum rating.
Set the operating window
Tell PMA the minimum acceptable fluid temperature, normal target and maximum permitted temperature. Include the temperature entering the line and the required condition at the instrument or outlet. A transfer line carrying an already-hot fluid has a different duty from a line that must remain warm during intermittent flow.
Separate maintenance from exposure
State any hot process excursions, steam cleaning or shutdown conditions. A heater operating limit does not establish the temperature the complete bundle will maintain. Tube material, insulation, heat source, route and ambient conditions all belong in the review.
Choose the role of the insulation
Electric or steam tracing adds heat along the line. Pre-insulated tubing reduces heat loss but has no integral active heater. Where temperature must remain within a defined window, provide the operating scenarios rather than selecting from a headline family rating.
