Heated analyser sample lines: specify the journey to the instrument
Review sample conditions, temperature limits and the complete route before choosing heat-traced tubing for an analyser installation.

Define the sample you need to deliver.
A sample line connects the process to a measurement system. Before choosing its heating arrangement, describe the sample composition, expected pressure, flow range and the conditions required at the analyser inlet. The analyser and sample-conditioning requirements should inform the tubing enquiry.
Where temperature changes could affect the sample, identify the relevant limits with the process or analyser specialist. Heating is not a universal remedy for every sampling issue. Tube compatibility, line volume, pressure changes and the wider sampling arrangement also need attention.

One sample route. Several operating conditions.
A useful sample-line specification covers the process connection, transport route and analyser interface, including the conditions during start-up, operation and shutdown.
Look beyond the normal operating temperature.
Record the inlet temperature, required maintained temperature and maximum permissible temperature separately. Include the lowest ambient condition and any warm-up, purge, cleaning or shutdown cases. The temperature needed by one application cannot safely be assumed for another.
Electric-traced tubing provides a source of heat along the transport line. Marmon offers different heater constructions for freeze protection and temperature maintenance. Selection needs an assembly-specific review of the duty, available power, sensing and control.
Include every transition along the route.
Provide a route drawing showing the process take-off, tubing length, exposed sections, supports and entry into the analyser enclosure. Describe valves, fittings and terminations so that thermal treatment and installation responsibilities can be reviewed across the complete path.
Agree the documentation and checks required before commissioning. PMA can help bring the tubing requirements together with the manufacturer information. Performance of the complete sampling system must be assessed against the actual measurement application; a heated bundle alone does not establish sample representativeness.
